Policy
A student, whose level of performance places them below the Program's criteria for good academic standing, is placed on academic probation. This is a serious warning that the student's level of achievement is unsatisfactory and requires immediate remediation / improvement. Class attendance becomes mandatory when a student is placed on academic probation. To be in good academic standing, a student must have an overall cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least C (75%). A student, who shows no signs of improvement at the end of the academic probation semester, will be required to take a leave of absence. The student may subsequently return to the Program on a space available basis if the student can produce evidence that he/she would benefit from the opportunity of continuing the Program and no more than one academic year has lapsed since leaving the program. The student may petition the Program Director in writing for re-entry to the Program.
